Daegu Do-dong Arbor Vitae Forest: Mt. Hyang is located about 2 km east of Bullo-dong. The forest that covers this mountainside is the Do-dong Oriental Arborvitae Forest, a protected area that is the main ground for Oriental Arborvitae trees in South Korea. The landscape is made even more beautiful by the adjacent valley and its stream. In 1962, it was designated as Natural Monument Number 1.
Bongmu Park (Butterfly Ecological Museum): This leisure sports park is equipped with various leisure facilities, which makes it an ideal location for family outings or a peaceful walk around the lake. There is also a butterfly museum and a rose garden, where children can learn about and enjoy unique elements of nature.
Pagye-Sa Temple: Pagye-sa, which was built in the year 804, has an interesting history. King Sukjong asked a monk, named Yeong-won, to pray that he might be granted a son. The following year, the King's wish came true and the future King Yeongjo was born. At that time, the monks of Pagye-sa were suffering from the antics of Confucius students, and it was only with the help of King Sukjong that Yeong-won (also known as Hyeoneung) was able to protect the temple. Today, the temple houses Yeong-won's tombstone and map, as well as King Yeongjo's robe. Bongjeongsa Temple:Bongjeongsa Temple was built in the 12th year of King Munmu (reign from 661~681) of the Silla Dynasty as, according to legend, a paper phoenix the Great Buddist Monk Ui-Sang (625~702) launched from Buseoksa Temple landed on this spot.
Documents from Geuknakjeon say that Neungin Daedeuk, a disciple of Monk Ui-Sang, had established the temple and it has been rebuilt several times during the Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910).
Bongjeongsa Temple is the largest temple in Andong, and possesses the oldest Korea wooden building Geuknakjeon.
Andong Hanji (Traditional Korean Paper):Andong Hanji, located at the entrance to Hahoe Village, an area preserving Korean tradition and customs, has done its best to manufacture traditional Korean paper. Andong Korean paper is made of Korean paper mulberry and clean water. Andong Hanji is very proud that it maintains exceptional quality, and the highest production capacity for Korean traditional paper.
Hahoedong Mask Museum:The Hahoe Mask Museum, located near the entrance to Hahoe Village, displays masks from Korea and around the world. Special emphasis is given to Korean masks associated with various mask dance traditions, with pride of place belonging to the Hahoe Mask dance Drama masks. Special displays illustrate the making of various masks and how they are used in performances and rituals.
Hahoe Folk Village:Andong Hahoe Village has preserved the housing architecture and the village structure of the Joseon Dynasty. Moreover, the village was not artificially created; there are people who actually live there.
Three sides of Hahoe Village (Important Folk Material No.122) are surrounded by the Nakdong River. Because the river swirls around the village, the village is named Hahoe, and is also called the spinning river village.
Byeongsan Seowon:Byeongsan Seowon is a Confucian school that was established by esteemed Confucian scholars to pay tribute to the memory of Ryu Seongryong(1542-1607), who was well-respected for his writings and personality. His mortuary tablet is enshrined at this school. Around the time of 1863, Confucian schools enjoyed many freedoms under the Joseon rule, students and scholars of the school were exempt from taxation and other expenses. Byeongsan Seowon was one of 47 places in all of Korea and 2 in Andong not destroyed during the rule of Daewongun [Politician of Joseon Imperial family, 1820~ 1898] in 1868.

It also aims to hand down its manufacturing technology to posterity so that the excellence of traditional Korean cultural assets may continue to be presented, and the development of local culture will be promoted. The Museum houses 1,480 items of Yugi in 275 types donated without compensation by Mr. LEE Bong-ju, who made and collected Yugi. Artisan LEE Bong-ju was designated by the central government in 1983 as the Important Intangible Cultural Asset No. 77.
Palgongsan (Cultural heritage):Mt. Palgongsan (1,192m in elevation), in the outlying reaches of the Taebaek Range, stands sentinel over the spot where the Nakdonggang and Geumhogang Rivers converge. In the past, Mt. Palgongsan was regarded as a sacred mountain because it resembles the shape of the Three Buddhas. This mountain has magnificent granite formations at higher elevations, and the beautiful valleys, seamlessly interwoven with rock formations and thick forests, make for a spectacular view.

Apsan Park:As the result of a 10-year project that began in 1970, Apsan Park is the largest park in Daegu, encompassing some 16,793,684 square meters. The park has a cable car running 790 m up to the summit. An archery field, a horse riding area, and a swimming pool can all be found at the bottom of the mountain. A monument inscribed with one of Lee Ho-u’s poems and a memorial hall dedicated to the victory of the Nakdonggang River Battle during the Korean War are also located there. Keungol-Daedeok Hillside offers beautiful scenery, which makes it a favorite picnic place.
Daegu Arboretum: This municipal arboretum is recognized as a good model for restoring a seriously damaged ecosystem. This site was as a sanitary landfill from 1986 through 1990. In efforts to restore this area, the city government constructed botanical gardens that include more than 1,000 species of unique plants. Visitors to the arboretum can enjoy its gardens, which contain giant cactuses, medicinal herbs, wild flowers, and potted plants. Ponds with aquatic lives and groves with various kinds of trees are another attraction. In addition, the arboretum offers several trail routes and has large grassed areas, which are great advantages for having a picnic or just relaxing, as well as exploring plants.

Seokguram Grotto: Seokguram Grotto is tucked away near the summit of Mt. Tohamsan on its secluded eastern slope. This man-made grotto was assembled from hundreds of white granite pieces of diverse sizes and shapes. It consists of a rectangular antechamber symbolizing the earth, a corridor acting as a conduit between earth and heaven, and a main rotunda with a domed ceiling representing heaven.
Bulguksa Temple: Construction of Bulguksa was started under the supervision of Prime Minister Gim Dae-seong in 751 in the reign King Gyeongdeok of the Unified Silla Kingdom. Buddhist monks and architects devoted all their energies and ingenuity to the construction of this temple that would embody the bliss of Buddha within the mundane world.
Daeneungwon:Large ancient tombs of kings and noblemen of the Silla Dynasty can be seen around Gyeongju at the Daereungwon Tomb Complex. There are twenty-three large tombs located here; the most famous being Cheonmachong and Hwangnamdaechong. In an excavation of the area in the 1970's, Cheonmachong was discovered with a painting of mounted horse. This painting is the only discovered painting from the Silla Era. You can also view the inside of Cheonmachong. There are 11,526 remains and crowns of the king inside the tomb demonstrating the lavish lifestyle of the king.
Gyeongju National Museum: At the Gyeongju National Museum, one can get a view of the Silla Dynasty at a glance. The museum contains 100,000 of relics recovered in and around Gyeongju. Among them, 2,500 items are always on

Daegu Arboretum: This municipal arboretum is recognized as a good model for restoring a seriously damaged ecosystem. This site was as a sanitary landfill from 1986 through 1990. In efforts to restore this area, the city government constructed botanical gardens that include more than 1,000 species of unique plants. Visitors to the arboretum can enjoy its gardens, which contain giant cactuses, medicinal herbs, wild flowers, and potted plants. Ponds with aquatic lives and groves with various kinds of trees are another attraction. In addition, the arboretum offers several trail routes and has large grassed areas, which are great advantages for having a picnic or just relaxing, as well as exploring plants.
Bon-ri Residence of the Nampyeong Moon Family (Inheung Village): Moon Gyeong-ho, the 18th generation grandson of famous Korean, Moon Ik-jeom, who first introduced the cottonseed to Korea from China in the 15th century, established this village on the site of the former Inheungsa Temple. In this village, nine traditional houses and two pavilions stand in their original forms of the late Joseon Dynasty style. The village has been designated as the regional Folklore Material No. 3. The representative buildings of this village include Gwanggeodang Lecture Hall, Subongjeongsa Pavilion and Insumungo Library. Insumungo Library has a study, stack rooms, and contains about 10,000 volumes of valuable books that are quite old, from Korea and abroad.

Seokguram Grotto: Seokguram Grotto is tucked away near the summit of Mt. Tohamsan on its secluded eastern slope. This man-made grotto was assembled from hundreds of white granite pieces of diverse sizes and shapes. It consists of a rectangular antechamber symbolizing the earth, a corridor acting as a conduit between earth and heaven, and a main rotunda with a domed ceiling representing heaven.
Bulguksa Temple: Construction of Bulguksa was started under the supervision of Prime Minister Gim Dae-seong in 751 in the reign King Gyeongdeok of the Unified Silla Kingdom. Buddhist monks and architects devoted all their energies and ingenuity to the construction of this temple that would embody the bliss of Buddha within the mundane world.
Shilla Millennium Park:Shilla Millennium Park is a theme park integrating both education and entertainment about the history and culture of the Shilla Period.
Focusing on the Shilla Period (57 B.C.-935 A.D.), the park reproduces Shilla architecture and a village of aristocrats, tells children fun stories about the period, and offers symbolic architecture such as Emile Tower and Seokbinggo.
Daeneungwon: Large ancient tombs of kings and noblemen of the Silla Dynasty can be seen around Gyeongju at the Daereungwon Tomb Complex. There are twenty-three large tombs located here; the most famous being Cheonmachong and Hwangnamdaechong. In an excavation of the area in the 1970's, Cheonmachong was discovered with a painting of mounted horse. This painting is the only discovered painting from the Silla Era. You can also view the inside of Cheonmachong. There are 11,526 remains and crowns of the king inside the tomb demonstrating the lavish lifestyle of the king.

Changdeokgung Palace:Changdeokgung Palace is surrounded by trees and abuts a wooded hillside on the northern fringe of Seoul. By almost everyone's estimation, Changdeokgung is the most beautiful and best preserved among Seoul's half dozen palaces. Indeed, the historical significance of the palace and the adjacent "Secret Garden" were underestimated until designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

N Seoul Tower: N Seoul Tower opened to the public on October 15, 1980 and has since become a major tourist attraction. The 236.7m Seoul Tower sits atop Namsan Mountain (243m), Seoul Tower offers panoramic views of Seoul and the surrounding areas. The view is so stunning that many consider Seoul Tower the best tower in Asia.
Demilitarized Zone: Demilitarized Zone is now the only cold war area in the world after the collapse of the Berlin wall and ongoing peace negotiations are still head at the truce village periodically.
Imjingak: Imjingak is located at the terminus of Tongilno Road just off the Imjingang River. Civilians are allowed to enter freely up to this area. Visitors can go to Panmunjeom from there through the nearby 'Bridge of Freedom', and a checkpoint.
The 3rd Tunnel & Dora Observatory:The 3rd Tunnel was discovered on October 17, 1978. It is located 52km from Seoul. Approximately 10,000 soldiers can move through this tunnel in one hour. Mt. Dora Observation Platform is located nearby the 3rd Tunnel. From this observation platform, North Korean military personnel are visible, and so are the city of Gaeseong and the Geumgangsan Diamond Mountains.

Gyeongbokgung Palace: Gyeongbokgung Palace was built in the late 14th century by the founder of the Joseon Dynasty. The majestic edifice, "Geunjeongjeon" and the spacious 2-story pavilion "Gyeongheoru" are nestled in the middle of lotus pond "Hyangwonjeong".The National Folk Museum of Korea: The National Folk Museum of Korea is also situated in the palace compound. It displays the religious rituals, dwelling customs, household tools, food, traditional costumes and the social dynamics of traditional Korean life.
Jogyesa Temple:Jogyesa Temple is the center of Zen Buddhism in Korea, and is famous for being located in the city. The first things you will see when you enter inside are the lovely trees. These locust trees and baeksong trees in front of the Daeungjeon, the main temple building, are about 500 years old.
Cheonggye Stream:Cheonggye Stream, flowing through the central part of Seoul, is a variety of fun activities and delicious eateries open to the public. The fortress wall stretches for a total of 5.52km and has a great variety of military facilities that’s hard to find anywhere else.
Changdeokgung Palace:Changdeokgung Palace was the second royal villa built following the construction of Gyeongbukgung Palace in 1405. It was the principal palace for many of the Joseon kings and is the most well-preserved of the five remaining royal Joseon palaces. The palace grounds are comprised of a public palace area, a royal family residence building, and the rear garden. Known as a place of rest for the kings, the rear garden boasts a gigantic tree that is over 300 years old, a small pond, and a pavilion.

Hallim Park:Hallim Park, almost 100 thousand square meters, has a variety of gardens that can be enjoyed in any season. Visitors can enjoy checking out Palm Tree Road, Jeju Stone and Bonsai Garden, Water Garden, Subtropical Botanic Garden and much more. The most famous tourist sites in Hallim Park are Hyeopjaegul and Ssangyonggul Caves known to be the only two-dimensional caves in the world. In addition, a folk village, children's amusement park and outdoor resort facilities make it enjoyable for both children and adults.
O’Sulloc Tea Museum: The o’sulloc Museum, located on Jeju-do Island near Seogwangdawon, teaches visitors about Korea’s traditional tea culture. The “o” in “o’sulloc”, means to appreciate and enjoy, and it also stands for the origin of sulloc, only sulloc, and of sulloc tea. At the O’sulloc Museum, not only can visitors enjoy unique o’sulloc teas, but they can relax next to the lotus pond in the indoor garden. The second floor of the building has an observatory, so visitors can enjoy the views of the nearby green tea fields and the surrounding landscape.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak [UNESCO World Heritage]:Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. Located on the eastern end of Jejudo Island, there is a huge crater at the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. The crater is about 600m in diameter and 90m high. With the 99 sharp rocks surrounding the crater, it looks like a gigantic crown. While the southeast and north sides are cliffs, the northwest side is a verdant grassy hill that is connected to the Seongsan Village. The ridge provides an ideal spot for walks and for horse riding as well. The sunrise from the crater is magnificent. Also the Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak surrounded by bright yellow colored rapeseed flowers in the spring is truly a sight to behold
Seopjikoji: Seopjikoji is located at the end of the eastern shore of Jeju-do Island. "Seopji" is the old name for the area, and "Koji" is Jeju dialect meaning a sudden bump on land.
Green fields without a single tree spread beyond the cliff to where a rock called “seondol” protrudes. Also there are stonewalls along the road to block the wind on the way to the lighthouse at the end of Seopjikoji. Within the stonewalls, you may find the most brilliant rapeseed flower fields every April.
Going up the metal steps of the lighthouse, you can view the whole seashore at a glance. On Koji hill, there stands a stone Bongsudae (4 m high, 9 m long and wide) that retains its original form.
Jeju Folk Village: With a total of 117 houses and facilities, Jeju Folk Village Museum has restored the scenes of the village to that of the 1890’s. Among them are Mountain Village, Hill-Country Village, Fishing Village and Shamanism Village. On land of more than 40 acres it has been reconstructed following long-term research and analysis of experts. Some of the extensive range of folk items on display are 1,627 woodenware, 1,046 bamboo ware, 1,699 earthenware, 1,544 porcelain ware, 765 wax candles, 921 ironware and 579 other items. The Jeju Folk Village Museum is the island’s main tourist attraction where customs of the old days can be explored.
Cheonjiyeon Water Fall:Cheonjiyeon, meaning "God’s pond," derives its name from the legend that the seven fairies serving the King of Heaven came down to the pond on stairs of cloud and bathed in its clean waters. Apart from the wild Dampalsu trees, designated as natural monument No. 163, the wooded area also contains a great variety of rare plants such as brambles, Songyeopnan as well as Gusiljappam trees, Sanyuja trees (Chinese lemon trees), and camellias which are all specified as natural monument No. 379. Take a walk along the subtropical path towards the Cheonjiyeon Falls for a kilometer and you will be able to hear the magnificent sound of waterfalls. The waterfall is 22m high, 12m wide and 20m in depth. The clear and deep water of Cheonjiyeon Falls is designated as natural monument No. 27 and is renowned as a habitat for Mutae eels (natural monument No. 258). Also, the annual Seven Fairies Festival is held every May.
Yongduam Rock (Dragon Head Rock): Situated to the north of Jeju City, Yongduam was created by strong winds and waves over thousands of years. From Yongduam, visitors can see Haeneo women divers working on catching seafood. Near the rock are various cafes, bars, and restaurants.
Jeju Folklore & Natural History Museum:Jeju Folklore & Natural History Museum currently has on exhibition folklore remains and natural historical materials of Jeju-do that were excavated in Jeju-do and displayed in 1984. The museum is divided into 4 exhibition halls: the Natural History Hall, the Folklore Exhibition HallⅠ, the Folklore Exhibition HallⅡ, and the Outdoor Exhibition.
